Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster finally arrives in the West this May for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam with a lot of DLC across two editions and bundles. As with most releases from Atlus West, there are different editions for retail and digital storefronts. This guide will cover all the DLC releasing for Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster, the contents of the editions, pricing, DLC bundles, and more.

There are two digital editions and one physical edition for Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster. The Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster physical release is available on PS4 and Nintendo Switch only and it includes the base game. For the digital release, all platforms get the Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster standard edition and the Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Digital Deluxe Edition.

The Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster standard edition is priced at $49.99 and Rs. 2,999 while the Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at $69.99 and Rs. 3,999.

The Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Maniax Pack includes a mode where Raidou Kuzonoha is replaced by Dante from the Devil May Cry Series. You can only select this mode when starting a new game. This DLC is priced at $9.99 on its own and is included in the Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Digital Deluxe Edition.

The Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Mercy and Expectation Map Pack priced at $6.99 includes

  • Little Master’s Mercy – Earn items that give you experience points in the extra dungeon “Where the Demi-Fiend was Born”
  • Master’s Expectation – Earn items that give you money in the extra dungeon “Center of the Conception”

The Shin Megami Tensei BGM Pack DLC is priced at $7.99 and it includes BGM tracks from games in the Shin Megami Tensei series to use on the map and during battles in the Vortex World.

The Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Merciful Difficulty DLC is a free download that includes the Merciful difficulty meant for beginners.

If you’ve bought the Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Digital Deluxe Edition or any of the DLC on its own for the game, the way you access said DLC varies depending on the DLC.

Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster – how to access Dante DLC

Once you’ve bought and downloaded the Maniax Pack, you need to start a New Game: Maniax. This will replace Raidou Kuzunoha with Dante. Note that you can only do this when starting a new file. If you’re playing on PC, New Game: Chronicle will add Raidou while New Game: Maniax will add Dante. On PS4 and Nintendo Switch, Raidou is available by default while the paid Maniax Pack DLC adds the Dante option.

You can do this from the settings at anytime in-game.

Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster – How to access the Mercy and Expectation map pack DLC

When you reach your first terminal in-game (around Ginza), you will be able to use the Amala Link to access the two new maps (shown at the bottom in the screenshot below). These let you access the re-done areas to earn items that give you more experience or money.

Once you enter this area, you take on enemies to gain drops like Grimoire (thin) and Grimoire (thick). These let you gain experience to level up. The Grimoire (thick) gives you enough experience to level up in your next battle while the Grimoire (thin) only gives you a small amount of experience.

Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster – Center of the Conception DLC items

Once you enter this area, you take on enemies that drop items like Bronze Bull, Gold Bull, and more. These can be sold for money. The Gold Bull sells for 8000 macca as an example.

Can you upgrade to the Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Digital Deluxe Edition?

The DLC included in the Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Digital Deluxe Edition will be sold separately at launch. It will cost a bit more to buy the DLC separately but you will not miss out on anything barring the four day early access pre-release. The pricing is mentioned above.

Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Raidou DLC region lock

On Steam The Chronicle Pack is free DLC while it is in the base game on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The Chronicle Pack will not be available in all regions.
