Earlier in the year The Mako Reactor reported that the Nioh 2 Special Edition would be skipping India. While this still is indeed the case with most Indian retailers, independent game store MCube Games is bringing the Nioh 2 Special Edition in limited quantities. However there’s a catch or two.

First up, the store has confirmed to us that it’s importing the US version of the Nioh 2 Special Edition. What this means is, you’ll need a US PSN account to claim its digital bonuses like the Season Pass. Secondly, it’ll be available from March 16 onwards instead of the official release date of March 13.

These two concerns notwithstanding, the Nioh 2 Special Edition listing on MCube Games is pretty reasonably priced when you consider that it costs $80 in the US (around Rs. 5,900) making the Rs.6,999 price tag seem fair. Here’s what you get with it.

Nioh 2 Special Edition contents

The special edition contains the following:

  • Nioh 2 game on disc
  • SteelBook
  • Artbook
  • Season Pass code

It’s odd to see the Nioh 2 Special Edition skip India outside of imports from independent retailers like MCube. The first game had solid sales in India despite releasing in striking distance to first-party favourite Horizon Zero Dawn. Perhaps the few major releases out around the same time as Nioh 2 and the so-so reception to the Death Stranding Special Edition (that’s still available at a discounted rate) has made Sony skittish of its chances.
