You can store ingredients and food in storage boxes or in your fridge. You unlock your fridge when you upgrade your house at the carpenter’s workshop (closed on Wednesday).

You can upgrade your inventory by paying the tool shop. You can upgrade your inventory space (bag) twice. This lets you store up to 32 items and tools. You also have a tool bag that lets you store your tools in so as to not use up slots in your bag.

Upgrading the hammer and axe will help you progress quicker as different kinds of lumber and ingots are basically what you need to progress in this game. When you go mining, focus on the newer stone types you see. If you see a point of interest on the floor like a sparkling location, use the hoe and use your hammer on ore veins on walls. Stock up on food so you can try and go to the lower parts of the mine for better chances at jewels and higher rarity ore.

As you explore around your farm, you will see broken structures like bridges or stables. Make a note of the materials and money you need to upgrade or repair these structures. Spending time cutting down trees for wood that is processed into lumber and mining for ore to be processed into ingots is the most important thing to do and what will let you unlock new locations around your farm. This gives you access to better quality trees, mines, and more.

When you drain lakes or ponds, the objects you get can be appraised in the museum and donated.

You have a camera in Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town that lets you take photographs of various things including wild animals and insects. Take photographs when you see something out of the ordinary. The game will highlight the creature indicating it is something you should photograph to donate. Once you take a photo of a specific creature, you don’t need to photograph it again and can focus on looking for others. You can only store up to 10 photos at one time so overwrite when needed. Once you have donated the photograph, you don’t need it anymore.
