After Metroid: Samus Returns, Mercury Steam got to work on a brand new Metroid game that was recently revealed as Metroid Dread (Metroid 5). It finally arrived on Nintendo Switch in the form of Metroid Dread and it is a pretty great experience. Unfortunately, there was a specific bug that caused the game to crash near the end of the story under specific circumstances. That has now been fixed with Metroid Dread version 1.01 update. The Metroid Dread version 1.01 update download size is 164MB. Watch the Metroid Dread trailer below:
Metroid Dread version 1.01 update patch notes
General Fixes
- Fixed an issue where, if a map marker is placed on a specific door on the map screen (the door destroyed with the beam obtained at the end of the game), destroying that door at the end of the game would cause the game to forcefully quit with the message “The software was closed because an error occurred”.
- Fixed several other issues to improve overall gameplay experience.
If you ran into this before or are still playing the game, make sure you update before continuing.
Metroid Dread is out now on Nintendo Switch.
