PS4-exclusive Nioh 2 has a March 13 release date. And while the rest of the world has multiple editions up for grabs, the Nioh 2 Special Edition is skipping India at retail. According to several sources in the supply chain speaking to The Mako Reactor, Sony has no plans to bring the Nioh 2 Special Edition to the country. As we reported earlier, the standard edition of Nioh 2 will be available.

What this means is, if you reside in India and want the the Nioh 2 Special Edition, your best bet would be to import it independently or resort to your local grey market. We’ve reached out to Sony for comment and received no reply at the time of publication, we’ll update this story if that changes.

Nioh 2 Special Edition contents

Nioh 2 Special Edition is priced at $79.99 (approximately Rs. 5,689) physically. It will be available in North America and Europe. The special edition contains the following:

  • Nioh 2 game on disc
  • SteelBook
  • Artbook
  • Season Pass code

It’s odd to see the Nioh 2 Special Edition skip India. The first game had solid sales in India despite releasing in striking distance to first-party favourite Horizon Zero Dawn. Perhaps the few major releases out around the same time as Nioh 2 and the so-so reception to the Death Stranding Special Edition (that’s still available at a discounted rate) has made Sony skittish of its chances.
