Following its announcement earlier this year, Bushiroad has announced (via Gematsu) a PS5 version of the upcoming shoot ’em up Macross: Shooting Insight. In addition to the Macross Shooting Insight PS5 release being announced, new story details have been revealed from the official Twitter account. The game is now coming to PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam this year in Japan. Developed by Kaminari Games and based on the long-running Macross sci-fi mecha media franchise, Macross Shooting Insight is a game I hope gets localized. Kaminari Games developed the recently-released Maid Dragon shoot ’em up.

Macross Shooting Insight English release
As of this writing, a localization hasn’t been announced, but the official Twitter account is posting English versions of its announcements giving me hope for a localization. It is currently scheduled for release this year in Japan on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. I think Bushiroad will self publish this or a publisher like Aksys Games might handle it for North America and Europe.
The official genre on the website is “new sensation scrolling shooter”.
