Monster Hunter Rise from Capcom released last year worldwide on Nintendo Switch and it hit Steam earlier this year. It is one of the best games you can play on Nintendo’s hybrid system even today. Read my review of the Switch version here and Steam version here. Monster Hunter Rise was just announced for Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PS4 release next month. This is quite a surprise, but it tells me we might be waiting longer for the next main game in the series. Having put in hundreds of hours into Monster Hunter Rise and Sunbreak across both Switch and Steam, I’m looking forward to replaying it on PS5 very soon. Watch the new Monster Hunter Rise trailer below:

Monster Hunter Rise physical release for PS5, PS4, and Xbox

Capcom confirmed to The Mako Reactor over email that Monster Hunter Rise is digital-only for PlayStation and Xbox. I think Sunbreak will see a physical bundle like on Switch, but that is just speculation on my part. Once we approach Sunbreak hitting PlayStation and Xbox, I’ll check in with Capcom about a potential physical release for that version.
