Shin Megami Tensei V from Atlus and Sega is finally here on Nintendo Switch. The first mainline entry in the series after Shin Megami Tensei IV and IV Apocalypse on Nintendo 3DS has released worldwide and the first post-launch update for Shin Megami Tensei V has started rolling out worldwide beginning with Japan in the form of Shin Megami Tensei V version 1.0.2. This follows the Shin Megami Tensei V version 1.0.1 update. Read about that here. Shin Megami Tensei V has some quality of life improvements and a change to a mid-game area. Shin Megami Tensei V version 1.0.2 update patch notes
- Added new camera distance options (11 levels)
- Added new brightness settings (11 levels)
- Simplified the gimmick in the Demon’s King Castle (3rd floor) – This is now easier to clear with less continuous jump gimmicks.
- Other minor fixes.

Check out a comparison between the lowest and highest brightness setting below. This will be useful if you play handheld mode in the second and third areas specifically.
Shin Megami Tensei V version 1.0.2 update release date
The Shin Megami Tensei V version 1.0.2 update had previously gone live in Japan already. It has now rolled out to the North American and European versions of the game as well.
