Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Nintendo Switch resolution docked and handheld
There are two aspects to Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury on Nintendo Switch when it comes to resolution. The Super Mario 3D World part of the package is between 1080p and 720p when docked with it sticking to the higher end of the range. When played handheld, Super Mario 3D World on Nintendo Switch is 720p as a maximum resolution. Digital Foundry says that the game uses some form of reconstruction that causes some flicker. Another visual change from the Nintendo Wii U release is in some shadows appearing differently on Switch and in one case, a shadow being bugged. Bowser’s Fury on Nintendo Switch has a dynamic resolution that ranges from 720p to 792p. The portable mode resolution for Bowser’s Fury is 720p. These appear to not use reconstruction.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Nintendo Switch frame rate
Just like resolution, the Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury performance varies between the Super Mario 3D World and Bowser’s Fury components of the package. The Super Mario 3D World Nintendo Switch frame rate is 60fps in both docked and portable modes. The Bowser’s Fury Nintendo Switch frame rate target is 60fps docked but there are drops in some situations and some stuttering when moving between different areas. In portable mode, the frame rate target is 30fps but there are some frame pacing issues.
