Earlier this year, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD was announced for a July release on Nintendo Switch in the Nintendo Direct. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is a remaster of the original game that debuted back in 2011 on Nintendo Wii. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD on Nintendo Switch includes button control options as well as motion controls with Joy-Cons. Today, Nintendo revealed a new amiibo figure in the form of the Zelda and Loftwing amiibo that launches alongside the game and it is the only amiibo that can be used with the game according to Daniel Vuckovic at Vooks.net. Watch The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Zelda and Loftwing amiibo trailer below:

Zelda and Loftwing amiibo features for Skyward Sword HD

In the game, you can normally only return from the surface to the sky at designated save points. If you use the Zelda and Loftwing amiibo, the game will allow you to return to the skies from anywhere on the surface, even inside dungeons. This also helps if you run out of items when on the surface because you can return to the Bazaar in Skyloft to get more supplies and then return to the surface to continue your adventure.

Zelda and Loftwing amiibo price and pre-order

Pre-orders will go live soon and the amiibo is priced at AUD 34.95 in Australia which converts to just over $27. I assume the amiibo will be priced at $24.99 in the USA.
