With Final Fantasy XIV patch 5.3 going live earlier today, Square Enix has expanded the Final Fantasy XIV free trial for new accounts and players. Players on trial accounts (those who have not spent on buying the game or any expansion) can now play until the end of Heavensward which includes both A Realm Reborn and all updates included. There is no playtime limit here for trial accounts. Watch the new trailer for the expanded free trial below:

How to download the Final Fantasy XIV expanded free trial

You can sign up and download the trial here. If you already have the client downloaded from the prior free trial, just update the game. On PS4, you can download the free trial on the PS Store here for US accounts and here for India and EU accounts.

Final Fantasy XIV free trial level cap

The expanded free trial level cap is 60 while the previous free trial had a level cap of 35.

Final Fantasy XIV expanded free trial contents

This expanded free trial includes 13 different jobs and classes including the three added with Heavensward. The Au Ra race is available and the trail also includes The Palace of the Dead fully unlocked letting players traverse to the deepest floor. In terms of story content, A Realm Reborn and Heavensward are included.

Final Fantasy XIV is now available on PS4 and PC.
