The new Nintendo Switch with improved battery life is rolling out the world over. While it’s far from the Nintendo Switch Pro we’re looking forward to, along with the Nintendo Switch Lite, it seems to be a step in the right direction for the Kyoto-based company. From its specifications to bundles, here’s everything you need to know about the new Nintendo Switch model.

New Nintendo Switch model battery life

The New Nintendo Switch Model offers 4.5 to 9 hours of battery life with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lasting for 5.5 hours. This is comparison to the launch Nintendo Switch’s 2.5 to 6.5 hours with around 3 hours in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

New Nintendo Switch model release date

It will launch beginning in September in Europe while Japan and USA have had it since the middle of August. No announcement has been made for other regions right now.

New Nintendo Switch display brightness and colour accuracy

According to a video from YouTuber Kevin Kenson (via Video Game Chronicle) that featured the use of a colorimter, the new Nintendo Switch model has a slightly warmer and brighter display versus the older Switch. Furthermore it was discovered that the new Nintendo Switch screen has 318 nits of brightness versus 291 on the older model. Also, the new Nintendo Switch display seems to have a white balance of 6,757 versus 7,200 on the older version making it a bit more colour accurate.

Does the new Nintendo Switch have Joy-Con drift?

The Nintendo Switch Joy-Con drift problem occurs when Joy-Con analogue sticks move at random and register as inputs on the console even when the Joy-Con aren’t being used. Initial teardowns of the new Nintendo Switch Joy-Con reveal no structural changes that could fix the prevailing Joy-Con drift issue.

New Nintendo Switch model price

The new Nintendo Switch price is the same as the old Nintendo Switch, retailing for $300 internationally. It doesn’t have a price for India just yet.

New Nintendo Switch bundles

Outside of the new Nintendo Switch that can be bought without games, there are just two new Nintendo Switch consoles bundles featuring games. These are the Disney Tsum Tsum Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch Dragon Quest XI S Set, both of which are exclusive to Japan.
