At the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration broadcast, Square Enix announced a remaster of the PSP game Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion brings the 2007 prequel to Final Fantasy VII to all platforms this winter. As confirmed to IGN, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will feature full voice acting and an arranged soundtrack. The Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion performance targets for different platforms were also revealed in the interview. There will be no new story content, and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will remain faithful to the original. Watch the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion remaster trailer below:
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion frame rate for PC, PS5, Xbox, and Switch
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will target 120fps on PC, 60fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X, with there being a difference in resolution and frame rate targets for Switch as revealed in an interview with IGN.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion physical release
As of now, a Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion physical release has not been announced. I assume one will happen on PlayStation and Switch at least like with Square Enix’s other Japanese games. I will update this when we do get news for a Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion remaster physical release.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion follows Zack Fair’s story and will unravel the stories of Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Sephiroth, and more when it launches this winter. Check out the official website here. While Square Enix referes to this as a remaster, it definitely looks more like a remake that likely sticks to the original structure in many ways, but has visuals to match modern times.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion releases this winter for PS4, PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
