Alongside the reveal of Earth Defense Force 6 before, D3 Publisher announced a brand new Earth Defense Force experience for Nintendo Switch and PS4 in the form of Earth Defense Force: World Brothers. Earth Defense Force: World Brothers is set in a voxel-styled world bringing the Earth Defense Force gameplay to a new visual style. It released back in December last year in Japan. Today, D3 Publisher revealed not only the Western release date but also an Earth Defense Force: World Brothers Steam version. Watch the Earth Defense Force: World Brothers Western release date trailer below:

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers cross platform play

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers doesn’t support cross platform play.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers local co-op and splitscreen

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers supports two player split-screen on PS4. On Nintendo Switch it supports four player LAN co-op play. Each person requires their own console and copy of the game on Nintendo Switch.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers physical release

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers is a digital-only release for Nintendo Switch and PS4 in the West as of now. Hopefully it does get one eventually like Earth Defense Force 5 did through PQube Games.
