This week, the demo for Nintendo’s previously announced Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity went live letting Nintendo Switch owners to sample the upcoming warriors game from Nintendo and Koei Tecmo ahead of its release date in November. According to a detailed report from video game technical analysis channel VG Tech of the demo, we now know the resolution and frame rate of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity on Nintendo Switch docked and handheld. Since progress carries over, it is likely that the final game will be just like this. Hopefully Nintendo and Koei Tecmo can work on addressing the technical issues in patches because Fire Emblem Warriors on Nintendo Switch was excellent technically compared to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. The Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity frame rate target is 30fps in both modes. Performance in portable mode is similar to docked mode. The frame rate fluctuates a lot dropping to the mid 20s often and it usually hovers around this during combat. The full performance graph is in the video above.

The VG Tech analysis reveals that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity uses a dynamic resolution both docked and portable. When docked, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity reaches a maximum of 1440×810 with the lowest resolution being 1013×570 approximately. VG Tech reports that 1440×810 is common when played docked. The UI is 1080p when played docked.
