This year continues to feel like one of the best years in gaming since 2017. Highlights of the year if you’ve not kept up include Street Fighter 6, Final Fantasy 16, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Octopath Traveler II, Hi Fi Rush, and more. Last month saw many games I’ve enjoyed playing like Trails into Reverie, Atelier Marie Remake, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening, and more release. August 2023 begins with Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed – Director’s Cut hitting Switch. There are more games coming, but the month is mostly back-loaded with Armored Core VI, Norn9: Last Era, Samba de Amigo, and more. As usual, I’ll update this if any other Japanese games releasing in August 2023 are announced.
