Nintendo just released the Animal Crossing: New Horizons version 1.2.0 update on Nintendo Switch. This update arrives after the Bunny Day event ended as the first major update to the game. The update download size is very small for 1.2.0 just like prior updates and the game updated in a few minutes on my console. This update is the April Update and it includes Leif, Redd, support for future seasonal events, and more. Your save data will be updated once you download this update so it will not be compatible with earlier versions of the game. Watch the trailer below:

Animal Crossing New Horizons version 1.20 update patch notes

The software has been updated if you see “Ver. 1.2.0” in the upper-right corner of the title screen.

  • General updates
    • The following visiting merchants can now visit the island.
      • Leif (gardening shop)
      • Redd (Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler)
    • Added seasonal events.
    • Addressed issues to further ensure an enjoyable gaming experience.

One thing not mentioned in the patch notes barring the save data update is that the Bank of Nook has reduced its rate of interest on all accounts. A gift has been sent to all players that includes a world map to make up for this.
