Gust and Koie Tecmo Europe are set to release Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout next month across PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. At TGS 2019, Koei Tecmo announced a trilogy of Atelier ports for the same platforms which is awesome news but many people are looking forward to Gust’s newest Atelier game, Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout. At TGS 2019, Matt Sainsbury at Digitally Downloaded spoke to Hosoi Junzo (Manager of Gust Entertainment Division) about Atelier Ryza and how Gust is looking to bring in new fans with the new entry.
He says that Atelier Lulua was made for the fans but Ryza is meant for everyone. “Lulua, meanwhile, was Arland series number four. It was really geared towards existing fans as opposed to new users. With this title, Ryza, from the character design, to the story, to the system, and everything else, we have basically done a reboot of it. We looked at everything, and we have really decided to start from the beginning with it.
