At TGS 2020 Online, Koei Tecmo and Omega Force announced two new Dynasty Warriors games. The first was a mobile Dynasty Warriors game and the second was Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires. Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires adds strategic elements and ditches the open world from Dynasty Warriors 9. Dynasty Warriors 9 had a lot of potential but it was a technical mess on most platforms. Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires was announced for an early 2021 release on all platforms. Today, Koei Tecmo has announced that the team needs a bit more time to deliver the best game possible.
