Capcom just announced the May 2021 Monster Hunter Digital Event featuring Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2. This digital event will be on the Monster Hunter official Twitch channel here and will include details for the Monster Hunter Rise version 3.0 free title update including its release date (probably rolling out after the event) and likely more with Monster Hunter Rise 3.0 set for “late May”. The event will also include new information for Monster Hunter Stories 2. Monster Hunter Stories 2 pre-orders recently went live. Details for pre-orders on PC are here. Watch the newest trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 2 showcasing the story below:
Monster Hunter Digital event time and date in May
The Monster Hunter Digital Event will begin on May 26 at 7:30 PM IST (or 3:00 PM GMT and 7:00 AM PST).
Monster Hunter Rise version 3.0 update download size
Monster Hunter Rise 3.0 update download size is 1.4GB. The total size with prior updates is 2.9GB.
Monster Hunter Rise version 3.0 update patch notes will be revealed after the event
As with most Monster Hunter updates, expect the patch notes to be available after the event ends and before the update has launched worldwide.
I recently spoke to Yasunori Ichinose at Capcom about Monster Hunter Rise’s returning monsters and more. Read the full interview here. I also spoke to Ryozo Tsujimoto about Monster Hunter Stories 2 and how it can be enjoyed by newcomers. Read that interview here. Since the Monster Hunter May 2021 Digital Event will feature updates on both Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2, I’m hopeful that Capcom announces more plans for post launch updates to both games since we have no idea what Capcom is planning for Monster Hunter Rise beyond 3.0.
Monster Hunter Rise is out now on Nintendo Switch. It releases in 2022 for PC via Steam. Monster Hunter Stories 2 releases on July 9 worldwide on Steam and Nintendo Switch.
