The Resident Evil 3 Remake release date is supposed to be April 3, 2020. However some fortunate gamers in France have managed to get the hotly anticipated horror game over the weekend — nearly three weeks before the Resident Evil 3 Remake is officially out.
“Resident Evil 3 was mistakenly released early,” reads a post on the Resident Evil subreddit. “The facts first became clear on Saturday March 21st that a retailer distributed physical copies and a Twitch user later streamed the game. There are more details to the incident but I’m leaving them out to respect the situation. There hasn’t been any word from Capcom that the game’s release has been changed and the stream was taken down making it clear it was not meant to be released.”
This statement was further corroborated by two impressions of the Resident Evil 3 Remake retail release posted on French forum Jeuxvideo.com from players who finished it. Details such as game length, location, and plot have been listed so keep in mind that it’s far from spoiler-free.
Resident Evil 3 Remake India price and release date
Don’t expect any change in the India release date for the Resident Evil 3 Remake. Aside from the obvious reasons such as the ongoing pandemic and the nationwide lockdown associated with it, retailers capable of pulling off an early release of the game don’t want to risk Capcom’s wrath. Resident Evil 2 Remake and Devil May Cry 5 sold surprisingly well in the country and sales for Resident Evil 3 Remake are anticipated to be as strong if not more so.
According to a listing spotted on Games The Shop, the Resident Evil 3 Remake India price is Rs. 3,499 on PS4 and Xbox One. Pre-orders are live now.
Oddly, there’s no mention of a steelbook or lenticular variant of the Resident Evil 3 Remake. The Resident Evil 2 Remake had both in addition to the standard version. Even the Resident Evil 3 Remake Collector’s Edition is absent, though we’d chalk that down to how expensive it would be if it made it here.
Resident Evil 3 Remake pre-order bonus
The Resident Evil 3 Remake pre-order bonus is the Resident Evil 3 Classic Costume Pack. This includes costumes for Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira inspired by their designs in the original 1999 game, including Jill’s original outfit and Carlos’ hairstyle. As of now, it is unclear if this is included in the retail copies or whether retailers will have to send over a separate code. The pre-order bonus is confirmed for Games The Shop as of now.
While no delay or change in release date has happened yet, given the current situation in the country and the rest of the world with the Coronavirus pandemic, it is uncertain if all copies of the game will be delivered on release day. For what it’s worth the demo gives you a decent idea of what to expect.
