With E3 2019 and Gamescom 2019 behind us, it’s time to look forward to the Tokyo Game Show 2019 (TGS 2019). Capcom, Bandai Namco, Sony, Square Enix, Koei Tecmo, Konami, Taito, and Sega/Atlus are all prepping a host of titles slated for the months ahead. We’ve put together a list of what to expect from Japan’s biggest and best. A few things to keep in mind: all timings mentioned are Japan Standard Time (JST) and certain details such as esports plans have been omitted and if you want to read those, check out this comprehensive guide. Nintendo doesn’t have much of a presence either outside of sponsoring a few areas. No surprise since it has its own Nintendo Switch fitness device announcement to make around the same time. For everything else, here’s what you need to know.

Tokyo Game Show 2019 dates

The TGS 2019 start date is September 12 and ends on September 15. It takes place at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.

Will PS5 and Xbox Scarlett be at TGS 2019?

In a word: no. While Sony has used past TGS events to show off new console and controller colour variants, this year seems to be all about the games. We may see some new colour options for Japan (and hopefully the world over at a later date) but with the PS4 breaking sales records and with Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima yet to come, don’t expect a PS5 announcement at TGS 2019. Microsoft doesn’t have a presence at TGS 2019, preferring to hold off on any announcements until its X019 event in London later this year.
